Programme 2: Self-Leadership & Skills Development

A highly interactive immersion programme that can be delivered virtually or in person. 

This programme is designed differently with content and activities for each of these two groups which are reflective of their experience and knowledge:

  • Senior Leaders / SLT Members/ Country Leaders/ Division Leaders

  • Aspiring Leaders / Talent Development programmes

To enable continuous development and transfer of learning, all modules include an action assignment to be done with your team prior to the next session as a way to encourage the application of behaviours and theories that leads to systemic change.

Part Two:  Self-Leadership & Skills Development

The second programme contains the elements to stretch and accelerate the performance of any team. Building on the foundation elements, these performance enhancers can provide dramatic shifts in how individuals perform within the team and how the team as a whole function. This is a much deeper exploration into what drives us, what moves us forward, and what holds us back. Participants have the opportunity to transform their thinking patterns, habits, and behaviours to achieve greater success in all areas of life. These modules allow teams to: 

These ideas will likely be adopted by different team members at different rates depending on their openness to the ideas - this is to be expected because we all have different backgrounds and experiences. Working on the basis that a rising tide lifts all ships, as one person benefits and shares their experiences, it is usual to have a ripple effect as they positively share their experiences and encourage other team members to adopt these practices. 

The foundational module sets the tone for the basics of a high-performing team. If Part One has been completed it will not be included in the curriculum. The following 3 modules consist of 3-hour interactive learning sessions that will enable the transfer of learning through the ability to continue to discuss and practice new skills and behaviours. The additional 3 modules build on the foundational model to allow teams to:

  • Build trust among teams and their members

  • Identifying your own blind spots in leadership style

  • Create a unifying vision that everyone is excited about and a plan to execute your vision

  • Create habits that lead you to success

Highlights Include:  

Module 1:  People First, Results will Follow (3 hours) only to be completed if Part One was not completed.

Module 2:  Re-Calibrate Your Compass (3-hours)

This module builds on the basics by taking a deeper look at who we are as leaders and team members. What is the “story” you tell yourself? How can you re-shape your identity? What stands in your way of moving to new heights and how can you work with these barriers to reach the next level of success in business and life?

Learning includes:

  • Explore your current leadership story and identify 4 steps for re-writing your leadership story

  • Identify areas that are no longer serving your best interests or the best interests of your team

  • Identify behavioural/thought habits that sabotage your success

  • Identify what currently influences you throughout your day and create conscious positive influences to keep you on track

  • Use your vision to remind you of the new beliefs, thinking, and behaviours

Action Assignment:

  • Who do I have to become to achieve the vision I created?

  • Who do I need around me?

  • What influences, habits, and thought patterns do I have to let go of?

  • What influences, habits, and thought patterns will I replace the old ones with?

Module 3:  What’s Your Super-Power? (3.5 Hours)

It’s often said that we get further in our pursuit of success by focusing on our strengths rather than spending time trying to develop or overcome our weaknesses. In this module, you will have a chance to identify your superpowers through the lens of how others experience you. We will also explore the super-powers of our team members and develop a plan for aligning roles with strengths and well as look at 5 guiding principles to bring you closer to your Big Bold Goals. During this module, you will identify the power of consistency and how small incremental changes can achieve big wins

Learning includes:

  • Identify your super-powers

  • Identify the super-powers of your team

  • Create a plan for capitalizing on the strengths of your team

  • Recognize there is no such thing as perfect

  • Identify the importance of trust – in yourself and your team

  • Explore 5 key guiding principles to move you closer to your Big Bold Goals

  • Create your daily commitments for aligning your activities to achieve your Big Bold Goal

Action Assignment:

  • Put your commitments into action – how will you align your activities, habits, and thoughts to focus on achieving your Big Bold Goals?

    • Make a list of small improvements and habits you can implement to lead you toward success

    • Chart your daily activity and successes

    • Chart your attention and efforts

    • Identify where you get pulled off course

Module 4:  Change Happens in the Calendar (3.5 hours)

Finishing our Stretch and Accelerate Module, we look at habits: how you do anything is how you do everything. Habits and behaviours show up in every part of your life, the question is – are they moving you forward or holding you back? In this module we learn to take deliberate, conscious control of the habits and actions that, when implemented daily, can rapidly accelerate your performance individually, and as a team.

This module also explores the mind-body connection with cornerstone habits that set you up for success in all areas of life. We finish by looking at the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset with an activity to assist you and your team in cultivating a growth mindset. 

Learning in this module includes:

  • Understanding the role and power of habits

  • Identify your current positive habits and create a list of habits to cultivate to move you toward achieving your Big Bold Goal

  • Understand the science of how habits form and how to recreate new ones

  • Create your habits chart

  • Discuss four cornerstone habits to support your success

  • Explore a fixed vs. growth mindset

  • Create a plan to cultivate a growth mindset

Action Assignment:

  • Execute your habits chart every day

  • Hold a team meeting to determine how to create a growth mindset within your team

  • Celebrate your wins
